Malaysians take charge of their health at the Garmin Run Asia Series 2023

The run, themed ‘From Zero to Hero’ inspired Malaysians to challenge their physical and mental strength, one kilometre at a time.

Malaysia, 23 October 2023 - Over the weekend, Garmin Malaysia gathered 10,000 enthusiastic and energised runners across the Klang Valley for the highly anticipated Garmin Run Asia Series 2023, an annual race by Garmin that aims to challenge and inspire Malaysians to keep an active lifestyle. The event featured three running categories which were 5km, 10km, and 21km.

The run kicked off with percussion of drums, cheerleaders, and lively Zumba warm-ups leading up to the flag off for the different categories, setting the stage for an unforgettable day of physical accomplishment in line with the ‘From Zero to Hero’ theme.

“This is our second Garmin Run Asia Series and we are thrilled to witness the incredible enthusiasm shown by Malaysians at the run year after year. We are grateful for the unending support of the local communities to make every run a success, hence will remain dedicated to provide more opportunities for Malaysians to pursue fitness and health. It is truly an honour to be a part of their fitness journey through our cutting-edge smart wearables and we hope to empower more individuals to lead a healthier, more active lifestyle with Garmin’s advanced performance technology,” shared Mr Scoppen Lin, Assistant General Manager, Garmin Asia.

Malaysian celebrity and Garmin ambassador, Alif Satar also advocated a healthy and active lifestyle by participating in the 5km run category, alongside fans and fellow running enthusiasts.

“It brings me so much joy to be a part of the Garmin Run Asia Series 2023 and witnessing fellow Malaysians take the step to challenge themselves in their fitness and health journey. Today I witnessed that this is not just a run event, it’s an experience that celebrates our shared passion for running. The energy and determination showed by fellow participants throughout the run was very encouraging and I hope that more Malaysians will be inspired to take charge of their health too,” shared Alif.

The event concluded with a prize ceremony where participants from different categories were recognised and celebrated, winning prizes worth more than RM92,000 prizes.
