Please read all the terms and conditions ("Terms") carefully. Each individual who registers to participate in Garmin Run Marathon Series 2026 – Malaysia ("the Event") (and, where applicable, in the case of a participant below the age of 16 years, the participant's parent, guardian or legal representative) ("Participant") declares and acknowledges to have read, understood and agreed to the Terms below and undertakes to comply with and be bound by the same.
The Garmin Run Marathon Series 2026 – Malaysia (the “Event” or “Garmin Run Malaysia 2026”) is owned by Garmin Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (“Event Owner” or “Garmin Malaysia”) and organised by SCORE Sports Management Sdn Bhd (747005-X) ( “Event Organiser” or “SCORE Malaysia”) in accordance with these Rules and Regulations (the “R&Rs”) and all the terms and conditions (the “T&Cs”) applicable to the registrants and/or participants of the Event (collectively, “Participants”), which can be found at https://www.garmin.com.my/event/2026/garmin-run/ (the “Official Website”). By continuing to use Garmin Malaysia and SCORE Malaysia’s services, accessing any part of the Official Website, registering for the Event, submitting information to the Event Owner and Organiser (and/ or its related entities) whether for the purpose of registering for the Event or otherwise, or using any features of the aforementioned website, you signify that you have read, understood and agreed to be bound by the Privacy Policy (as amended from time to time) in respect of the Event Owner and Event Organiser’s collection, use and disclosure of your personal information. Further, you hereby expressly agree and consent to the Event Organiser’s (including its related entities, as well as their respective agents’), collection, use and disclosure of your personal information, in the manner set forth in the Policy.
Event Registration
- 1. By registering for and providing any information, personal or otherwise, to gain access and participate in the Event or any activities relating to the Event, the completion of the registration confirms the Participant’s agreement to abide by these R&Rs and the usage of the Participant’s personal information for marketing, statistical and planning purposes.
- 2. Registration for the race is only confirmed upon payment and issuance of a race registration number. The Participant agrees to: (i) provide true, accurate, current and complete information about the Participant contained in the registration form (the “Personal Information”); (ii) maintain the security of the Participant’s password and identification; and (iii) maintain and promptly update the Personal Information to keep it true, accurate, current and complete.
- 3. Garmin Malaysia and SCORE Malaysia reserve the right to contact the Participant from time to time by any means. Any notice sent to the email address registered with Garmin Malaysia or Score Malaysia shall be deemed as received by the Participant.
- 4. If the Participant provides any information that is untrue, inaccurate, outdated or incomplete, or if the Event Organiser has reasonable grounds to suspect that such information is untrue, inaccurate, not current or incomplete, the Organiser may suspend or terminate the Participant’s registration and refuse Participants all current or future use of the Event. There will be no fee refund upon such suspension or termination of the Participant’s registration.
- 5. The Organiser will not entertain or be in any way responsible for any disputes arising from incomplete or inaccurate registration data in the registration form completed by the Participant. No changes to registration details are permitted once registration is completed (exception may only be made for the Personal Information and crucial details, e.g. emergency contact).
- 6. Once the Participant’s registration has been duly processed, there will be no refund for any participant who does not eventually take part in the Event for whatever reason.
- 7. The Organiser reserves the right to change the date, venue or to cancel the Event at any time without prior notice to the Participant, in which case it will make reasonable effort to inform the Participant prior to the date of the Event. None of Garmin Malaysia, SCORE Malaysia, Event sponsors or co-sponsors shall be liable for any other loss or inconvenience caused.
- 8. There will be no refund on registration fees if the Event is cancelled for reason of force majeure e.g. due to occurrence of incidents that are beyond the control of the Organiser (including but not limited to haze, storm, rain, inclement weather, wind, act of God, terrorism, or other conditions) and which in the Organiser’s opinion, renders it impossible or unsafe to hold the Event.
- 9. The Organiser reserves the right to modify or substitute any of these R&Rs and/or T&Cs from time to time as the Organiser deems fit. If there is ambiguity in any of these provisions, the Organiser shall be the authority to interpret these provisions. Any of the amendments to these R&Rs and/or T&Cs will be updated on the Official Website.
- 10. The Organiser reserves the right to amend the Event race routes and venue as the Organiser deems fit for the safety of the Participant and/or to prevent any potential hazards in the running of the Event, at any time without prior notice to the Participant. In such cases, every effort will be made to inform the Participant prior to the day / date of the Event.
- 11. The Organiser is not responsible for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications, or any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servicers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of email or traffic congestion on the internet and/or the Event’s Official Website.
Safety and other precautions
- 1. Whilst every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organiser to ensure the Participants’ safety, the Participant takes part in the Event at his or her own risk. To the fullest extent permissible by law, none of the Event Owner, Event Organiser, Event sponsors or co-sponsors will be responsible or held liable for any injury or death however arising from training for, during or after participation in the Event. The Participant is strongly encouraged to consult his or her medical practitioner prior to registration and before the actual race day.
- 2. It is the sole responsibility of every participant to inform the medical staff/ safety marshal of the session regarding any injury or reason that they cannot exercise.
- 3. Should any participant feel fatigue, restless, or an injury at any time during or before the session, they must immediately inform the medical staff/safety marshal and refrain from joining the session.
- 4. A Participant must retire from the race immediately if required to do so by any member of the official medical staff, race director, referee and/or security officer (collectively, “Staff”) for any reason whatsoever, including but not limited to the reasons stated in these rules and regulations. The decision of any such Staff member is final.
- 5. The Organiser cannot be held responsible for lost, damaged or stolen property during the session.
Age Requirements
- 1. The Event is open to all, and each participant attends the Event on his or her own free will.
- 2. The 10KM is open to participants aged 13 years old and above in Year 2026.
- 3. The 21KM is open to participants aged 16 years old and above in Year 2026.
Race
- 1. Race Bib
- 1. The emergency information on the Participant’s race bib must be fully and accurately completed prior to the start of the race.
- 2. Participant must attach the assigned bib on the front of his/her running attire. Any participant not wearing a bib will not be allowed to enter the Start Pen or will be taken off the race route by security officers or route marshals.
- 2. Start Pen
- 1. Participant will be separated into different start waves depending on sequence of arrival. Participant is to assemble at the start venue in his/her respective category reporting time.
- 2. Wave starts are required for participant safety throughout the race.
- 3. Race Route
- 1. Pets, bicycles, in-line skates, prams, push carts, shoes with built-in or attached rollers and any other wheel-run objects are not allowed in the Start Pen and on the race route.
- 2. Only official race and medical vehicles are allowed on the race route.
- 4. Race Categories
- Participants can choose to participate either under the Performance Categories or Open Categories. The race categories for Performance and Open participation are as follows:
- Competitive Categories - 10KM and Half Marathon
To qualify, Participant must provide evidence of achieving the entry qualification timings or better in a past race during the qualifying window. Competitive Categories will be flagged off earlier than the Non-competitive Categories
- ● Non-competitive Categories – 10KM and Half Marathon
- ● No qualification required.
- ● General Registration Window: 25 May 2026 to 31 August 2026
- ○ All Participants including those who wish to participate in the Competitive Categories must register within the General Registration Window.
- ● Result Submission Window (Competitive Categories): 25 May 2026 to 31 July 2026
- ○ Participants who wish to participate in the Competitive Categories must submit the evidence of their past result via the Google Form link in the Registration Page within the Result Submission Window.
- ● Qualifying Window (Competitive Categories): 1 February 2025 to 31 July 2026 (18 Months)
- ○ Only race results within the Qualifying Window will be valid for submission and consideration.
- ○ All submitted qualifying results will undergo careful review and verification processes. Not all eligible/interested individuals will automatically be accepted nor guaranteed a spot in the Competitive Pen due to limited field size.
- ○ Successful applicants will be notified via official communication channels after the verification and selection process is completed. Please note that nationality verification will be required as part of the process.

- 8. Podium Winner and Prize Money
- ● Only Participants who start in the Competitive Pen will be eligible for Podium Finish and Prize Money
- ● Podium winners are only limited to 2 non-Malaysians and PR per category.
Bag Deposit
The following rules and regulations apply to all Participants utilizing the event bag storage facility provided by SCORE Malaysia. By using this facility, Participants agree to comply with the terms outlined below:
- ● Bag Size Restriction
- ○ Only bag with the dimension no bigger than W36cm x H40cm are permitted for deposit. SCORE Malaysia reserves the right to reject any bags that exceed the storage capacity.
- ● Security Inspection
- ○ For safety and security purposes, SCORE Malaysia reserves the right to open and examine any item or bag deposited at the event bag storage facility. Only secured bags are accepted at the event bag storage facility.
- ● Limitation of Liability
- ○ SCORE Malaysia will not be held responsible for any loss and/or damage, whether personal or otherwise, to any belongings or items deposited at the event bag storage facility.
- ● No Valuables Policy
- ○ Participants are strictly advised not to deposit valuable items in their bags. This includes, but is not limited to:
- • Credit or debit cards
- • Large amounts of cash
- • Expensive jewellery
- • Mobile phones or other items of significant personal or monetary value
- ● Acknowledgement and Agreement
- ○ If any personal property is provided to SCORE Malaysia for safekeeping, the participants understand, acknowledge and agrees that no valuables should be left in the bag. Use of storage facility is entirely at the participant’s own risk.
DO NOTE THAT THE FOLLOWING ITEMS ARE NOT ALLOWED:
- • Bicycles, skate scooters and other PMDs
- • Pets including guide dogs
- • Remote controlled devices including drones
- • Sharp objects such as, not limited to, pocket knives and scissors
- • Pyrotechnic devices such as flares or fireworks
- • All items listed under SPF prohibited items
All prohibited items found will not be allowed inside the race venue. Items found will be recorded and reported to the relevant authorities. For items found that are under the list of SPF prohibited items, a police report will be made. All participants are advised to travel light and must have their race bib to enter the race course.
Cut-off Time and DNF (Did Not Finish)
Participants must complete their respective race categories (which they registered for) within the following cut-off times; otherwise, they will be deemed disqualified (“DNF”).
- ● 10KM – 2 hours and 30 minutes from last starter to cross the start line.
- ● Half Marathon (21.1KM) – 4 hours from last starter to cross the start line
Note: There will be intermediate cut-off times at selected sections of the race route. Details of these cut off points will be released closer to race day. For Participants’ safety and to avoid being caught in between live traffic, Participants must obey as instructed, or they will be pulled off the race route immediately. Score Malaysia reserves the right to amend the intermediate cut-off times without prior notice due to any adverse weather or any other situation beyond the control of the Organiser.
Race timings will not be issued to the diverted or cut-off Participants (“Did Not Finish” or “DNF” would be indicated in the timing issued). Finisher’s T-shirts (only applicable for the Half Marathon) and medals will NOT be issued to DNF participants.
Cancellation
After registration, there will be no fee refund for a Participant who does not eventually take part in the Event, for any reason whatsoever. A Participant is strictly not allowed to transfer his or her race entry to another party. Any Participant who commences before the actual start time of the race category for which he or she is registered will be disqualified. The start time for the respective race categories can be found on the Official Website. A Participant who does not start within the time given from his or her respective flag off point (Half Marathon and 10km) will be disqualified and, for safety reasons, may not be allowed to start.
Race Entry Pack Collection (‘REPC’)
- ● Identification Requirement
- ○ All Participants must present either a soft or hard copy of their confirmation slip for verification purpose.
- ● Race Entry Pack Contents
- ○ The Race Entry Pack includes the race bib, a timing device (attached to a race bib), and other event novelties.
- ● Collection Period and Location
- ○ Race Entry Packs must be collected from the official Race Entry Pack Collection location (“REPC”) during the designated collection period (“Collection Period”).
- ○ Details regarding the REPC and Collection Period will be published on the Official Website.
- ○ There will be no collection of Race Entry Packs outside of the stipulated Collection Period.
- ● Authorised Collection by Proxy
- ○ Participants who are unable to collect their Race Entry Pack in person may authorise another individual to do so on their behalf (Strictly up to 2 race packs on behalf).
- ○ The authorised individual must present:
- • A completed authorisation form provided by SCORE Malaysia
- • A copy of the Participant’s registration confirmation
- • SCORE Malaysia reserves the right to reject any collection that does not meet these requirements.
- ● No Late Collection
- ○ Late collection requests will not be entertained under any circumstances.
- ○ SCORE Malaysia shall not be liable for any loss or inconvenience arising from the Participant’s inability to collect the Race Entry Pack within the Collection Period.
- ○ SCORE Malaysia is not obligated to extend the Collection Period or make alternate arrangements.
- ● Uncollected Race Entry Packs
- ○ Race Entry Packs not collected during the Collection Period will be deemed unwanted. SCORE Malaysia reserves the right to dispose of or redistribute these items at its sole discretion.
Runner’s Entitlement
- ● Running Apparel Size Selection
- ○ All running apparel sizes are strictly non-exchangeable.
- ○ Participants are advised to refer to the official size chart provided on the registration form before selecting their preferred size.
- ○ SCORE Malaysia shall not be held liable for incorrect size selections made during registration.
- ● Finisher’s Medal
- ○ All Participants who successfully complete the race in their chosen category will be awarded a Finisher’s Medal.
- ○ Participants must present their race bib to the designated officials at the Athletes Welfare Area (located at the finishing point) to collect the medal.
- ● Finisher’s T-Shirts (Half Marathon Participants Only)
- ○ Only Half Marathon Participants who successfully complete the run on race day are eligible to receive a Finisher’s T-Shirt.
- ○ The Finisher’s T-Shirt size will be based on the running singlet size selected during registration and is strictly non-exchangeable, both during and after the Event.
- ○ The Finisher’s T-shirt size is subject to availability and issued on a first-come-first-served basis to a Half Marathon Participant. In the event that the preferred size is no longer available, the next best size will be given and no exchange is available during or after the Event. Running apparel sizes chosen during registration is not indicative of size availability of the Finisher’s T-shirt on-site on Event day.
- ○ No requests for size changes or post-event distribution will be entertained.
- ● Collection Policy for Medals and T-Shirts
- ○ All Finisher’s Medals and Finisher’s T-shirts must be collected on race day.
- ○ No post-race collection requests will be entertained under any circumstances.
- ● Electronic Certificate of Participant (e-Certificate)
- ○ Participants who successfully complete their respective race categories within the official cut-off time will be eligible to receive an e-Certificate of Participation.
- ○ The e-Certificate will be made available for download on the Official Website within one week after the event.
- ○ This entitlement does not apply to Participants who do not complete the race or are disqualified.
